What the eco-label means (Bio-inspecta / BioVidaSana Standard)
Our cosmetics are certified by the Swiss entity Bio-inspecta under the BioVidaSana Standard, an independent standard that sets strict requirements for ingredients, processes, packaging, and labeling for natural and organic cosmetics.
Visible categories on the label
- Category I – “Organic cosmetic product”: ≥ 90% of ingredients of organic origin (with technical exceptions such as soaps/hydroxides). The rest can be of microbial, mineral origin, or other additives authorized by the standard.
- Category II – “Natural product with X% organic ingredients”: natural formula that declares on the label the exact percentage of organic ingredients when it is not possible to reach category I.
- Category III – “Natural product”: formulated with natural ingredients according to the standard (no minimum organic percentage required).
Transparency on the label
- The certification body must be indicated (e.g., “Certified by Bio-inspecta”).
- The Vida Sana and Bio-inspecta seals are displayed when certified.
- In the INCI, organic ingredients are marked with * and allergens with **.
- No layout tricks are allowed (bolding ingredients within the INCI) that could be misleading.
Certified vs. endorsed
The standard also includes an endorsement (review of ingredients, formulas, and labels). Certification implies auditing and allows displaying the Bio-inspecta seal alongside the Vida Sana seal; endorsement is not equivalent to certification.
