Say no to wipes! 

Some of the many reasons why using wet wipes to clean our dogs and cats doesn't align with our values:

1. They have a very short lifespan:

They are used once and that's it. At The Doog Life, we try to avoid single-use products as much as possible, which is why our cotton cleaning pads are reusable and washable. We also avoid unnecessary use of cardboard in product packaging; they come without boxes or cases. And all our packaging is sustainable, recycled, and recyclable.

2. Their manufacturing process impacts the environment.

They require a large amount of materials, water, and energy, resulting in a huge carbon footprint for a single-use product.

3. Their recycling is almost impossible and very costly:

They are composed of various materials, resins, fibers, microplastics... making them very difficult to recycle.

4. They are not biodegradable:

Wipes flushed down the toilet not only cause blockages, but also disintegrate into microplastics and end up directly in our waterways, rivers, and seas. There, the plastic fibers of these wipes can take over 100 years to break down into smaller fragments.

5. They use chemical and synthetic products:

 “The cleaning component of wipes is a solution of various soluble chemical compounds, including detergents, chelating agents, perfumes, and moisturizers to retain water in the structural matrix for as long as possible.” These chemical components can contaminate water bodies such as rivers, seas, and lakes, and alter the food chains of animals.*
