Today, we want to pause for a moment and share something we're very excited about. Alba Ciordia, founder of The Doog Life, has been recognized at the Leal Awards in a charity gala held in Alicante, and has been featured in an interview in La Vanguardia about the role of dogs in people's emotional well-being.
Two pieces of news that, in reality, speak of the same thing: why this brand exists and the people and animals that have made it possible.
Recognition we share with you
The Leal Awards recognize individuals and projects that work for animal welfare. That Alba received one of these awards, at a charity gala organized by Kompatas by Vidanimal and Gosbi, is a huge source of pride for the entire team.
But as she herself said upon accepting it, this award is not just hers. It belongs to the entire community that has been with us for years, and especially to Claire, the dog that started it all.
These were her words:
All pain can be transformed into light, and there is always a purpose behind the adversities that life presents us.
Claire has not only taught me what LOVE with capital letters is, but also what dedication, patience, and generosity are.
It was precisely because of her health problems and her reactions to conventional treatments with chemicals and synthetics that the idea of founding The Doog Life arose, to offer natural alternatives based on botanical extracts to dogs and cats.
Today, almost 5 years later, we can proudly say that we have helped improve the quality of life and health of more than 78,610 dogs and cats.

"There are dogs that emotionally support people no one else is supporting"
That is the title of the interview Alba gave to La Vanguardia, and it summarizes one of the central ideas of her work as a communicator and of her new book, They are family too (Roca Editorial).
In the conversation, Alba reflects on something that goes beyond dog care: on how the bond with animals has become a real emotional refuge for many people, and on how it rewrites what we understand by family. She speaks from her own experience, marked by the loss of her mother in childhood and by several gestational losses, and from living with her dogs, Claire and Briana.
One of her reflections neatly summarizes the tone of the entire interview:
Mothering, in the end, is about caring, supporting, and accompanying. And that does not depend on biology, but on the relationship a person establishes with what they are emotionally responsible for.
She also points out something that many people feel but few dare to name: that saying "they're just dogs" doesn't describe the animal, but invalidates what the person who loves them feels. And she provides a thought-provoking statistic: in Spain, there are more registered dogs than children under 14 years old. For Alba, dogs don't replace anyone, but they do reconfigure the idea of family.

Where all this comes from
Those who know us know that The Doog Life was not born in a marketing office. It was born from a real story: that of Alba and Claire, a golden retriever with health problems (skin, eyes, digestive system) who reacted poorly to conventional products loaded with chemicals and synthetics.
From that search for more respectful alternatives came the idea of creating natural cosmetics and supplements, based on botanical extracts, designed for dogs and cats with real needs. What started as a solution for Claire is now a brand that has accompanied tens of thousands of families.
And true to that origin, a portion of each order is allocated to the The Doog Life Foundation, which makes donations to shelters and rescues. Because good care also means caring for those who don't yet have a family.
